Khaled Lemouchia to Echorouk: “I’ll never forgive the Egyptians because they targeted my life”

Algeria’s player Khaled Lemouchia became famous after the Egyptian attacks against Algerian players in Cairo, as he was dangerously injured at the head, now as the FIFA reopens the file of the Egyptian attacks on Algeria’s team he expressed his feelings to Echorouk in this interview. 

• -FIFA is considering the file of the Egyptian attacks on your bus in Cairo. What happened there?

• They were hard times in Cairo, it was awkward and there was a lot of pressure because of the barbaric attacks which aimed to kill us. What happened targeted our lives, tank’s god we survived. I think the FIFA will not tolerate with the Egyptians and they will face severe punishment in order to stop such abuses.

• -You were a victim of the attack…did you forget what happened in Cairo?
•  
• *I can never forgive the Egyptians because they brought terror to me, my family and all the Algerian fans. What they have done showed lack of respect to Algeria and the rest of the world, that’s why I can’t forgive them at the moment, because the wound has not yet healed. We were very shocked however, we became stronger and we won in Sudan with a civilized way, and offered qualification to the World Cup to our dear people.

• –Do you think Egyptians were different before Cairo match?
•  
• *Before Cairo match I had a good image of the Egyptians, the evidence I had a desire to play for Zamalek club which asked for my services, however, after the attacks I changed my opinion, because you can’t share anything with the one who target your life.

• -You sacrificed for your team however you’ll not play in the world cup, why?
•  
• *Yes, I paid blood for Algeria, and I’m so proud, because what I sacrificed for my country. It is painful to be left out of your team, especially when you did not make mistakes. What happened in Angola was inevitable after those strange things; however, I assert that I never offend my coach.

• -Your case was resolved; do you wish to return to the team?
•  
• *Of course I’m optimistic to return again to my team, and why not participate in the World Cup because I did my best to be there, I think I’ll get another chance, particularly since I have good relationship with everyone, Raouraoua, Saadane or my team-mates.

• -Will you travel to France; do you get a new offer?
•  
• *Actually I’ll travel to France in order to renewal my passport, and there are no contacts with French clubs, I stopped everything since my participation in the CAN.

• -But you got offers from foreign clubs, didn’t you?
• -Yes, I received calls from four premiere league Saudi clubs, EL Hilal, El Ittihad, Ennasr, and El Ahli, and I’ll choose the best.
